We are seeking highly motivated and qualified Economic Researchers Interns to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in economics or a related field, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for contributing to impactful economic policy research. The role involves conducting in-depth research and analysis on regional economic trends, producing high-quality reports and publications, and contributing to public events and policy dialogues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on macroeconomic and microeconomic trends, with a specific focus on GCC and broader Middle East markets.
  • Collaborate with the economics unit to deliver a range of quantitative and qualitative outputs, including policy briefs, policy papers, reports, and in-depth studies.
  • Conduct literature reviews to support and contextualize ongoing research papers.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze economic datasets to identify trends and support research hypotheses with robust quantitative evidence.
  • Draft high-quality, publication-ready policy briefs, analytical reports, and research papers that translate data into actionable economic insights.
  • Represent the research center at policy dialogues, seminars, and workshops, presenting findings to academic, governmental, and professional audiences.
  • Provide timely economic commentary and analysis on current regional and global developments, as directed by management.
  • Support other research and analytical duties as assigned by line management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0-5 years of relevant research experience, ideally within a think tank, research center, or policy institution.
  • Strong knowledge of GCC/Middle East economic and policy landscape preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and technical research skills, including the ability to design and execute research methodologies.
  • Exceptional written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data and technical findings into clear, actionable policy recommendations.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (STATA, SPSS, or R) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail, with strong data accuracy and proofreading skills for technical economic content.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent research projects and meet strict publication deadlines.
  • Prior publication record (policy briefs, working papers, journal articles) is a plus.

Additional Desirable Skills

  • Experience publishing policy briefs or academic articles.
  • Knowledge of strategic foresight methodologies.
